National park Krka

National Park Krka river is located very near Brodarica, only about 15 kilometers away.

The Krka River makes its way through the North Dalmatian plateau, creating a deep canyon, rich in waterfalls, lakes and vegetation. Within the 72 kilometers of Krka's course, its most beautiful and best preserved part spreads from old Croatian fortresses of Trošenj and Nečven to the Roški slap.

The Roški slap is the most impressive waterfall in the Krka National Park. It is made of many short cascades (the so-called "necklaces"), backwaters and islets. The special attraction are the old water mills, which are still active.

With its seventeen cascades stretched over 800 meters, 200-400 meters wide and the total height of 46 meters, the Skradinski buk is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Europe.

Right after the Roški slap, the river forms a lake (the Visovačko jezero), named after a small island in the middle of it. There is also a church and the Franciscan monastery on the island of Visovac, with a precious collection of books and works of art, owned by the Franciscans, who moved here in 1440.

Krka is easy to reach by car if you travel from Brodarica in the direction of Šibenik and follow the sign-posts further on. One of the best ways to see Krka is to take a boat ride organized by our agency.
